RESPONSIBILITIES
- Load and unload passenger luggage and cargo on and off aircraft
- Operate baggage handling equipment such as conveyor belts, carts, and trolleys
- Sort and route baggage to the correct flight and baggage claim carousel
- Ensure timely delivery of baggage to and from aircraft
- Inspect baggage for damage or potential security risks and report discrepancies immediately
- Follow all safety procedures and airport security protocols while handling baggage
- Work closely with ground crew and airline personnel to ensure efficient baggage processing
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in baggage handling areas
- Coordinate with security personnel to ensure adherence to airport security measures
- Participate in training sessions on baggage handling procedures, safety standards, and equipment operation
- Coordinate with airline staff for special handling of oversized, fragile, or priority items
- Record and report baggage handling activities in accordance with company and airport regulations
- Support and promote the company’s Safety Management System (SMS) initiatives
- Report safety hazards, incidents, and near misses in accordance with SMS reporting procedures
- Exceed PrimeFlight customer service and safety standards
- Perform any additional duties as assigned by management
- 18 years of age or older
- Eligible to work in the United States
- Communicate effectively in English (reading, writing, speaking)
- Must have a valid state-issued driver’s license with an acceptable driving record
- Ability to access and interpret information in print and electronically, including the use of electronic devices including IPads/Tablets, Computers, and Mobile Devices
- Effectively communicate with colleagues and clients, both in-person and through electronic means
- Eligibility to acquire needed credentials and clearances (FAA, TSA, Port Authority, U.S. Customs and U.S. Postal- as applicable)
- Airlines are 24/7, so we need our team members to be flexible to work various shifts including nights, weekends and holidays
- Ability to lift up to 70 pounds
- Prolonged standing and walking in an indoor/outdoor environment as applicable
- Must be able to reach with arms and grasp with hands
- Must be able to push, pull
- Must be able to crawl and crouch, at times, in confined tight spaces
- Must be able to bend, stretch, squat, kneel
- Must be able to climb and work at elevated heights
- Exposure to moderate and at times high noise levels
- Exposure to Biohazards and/or Chemicals
- Exposure to outdoor elements
- Be able to hear and respond to the spoken voice and to audible alarms
