Bookkeeper – Construction, Flooring Business
Job Description:
- Maintain and update all financial records in Xero (essential)
- Manage accounts payable and receivable processes
- Monitor and follow up on overdue creditors and payments
- Ensure accuracy and timeliness of all financial data
- Manage Gmail inbox and coordinate calendars for installations and site work
- Schedule upcoming flooring installations and track job progress
- Complete monthly administrative tasks and reporting
- Maintain accurate records across internal systems
- Process orders and invoices using the company’s internal sales system (training provided)
- Coordinate stock ordering and ensure materials are ready for upcoming installs
- Liaise internally to ensure smooth workflow from sale to installation
- Conduct customer check-in calls throughout projects
- Follow up on job progress and customer satisfaction
- Update internal systems with call outcomes and notes
- Maintain a professional and friendly customer experience
Requirements:
- At least 2 years of proven bookkeeping experience using Xero with AU client in the construction, flooring, or trades-based businesses or the likes
- Proficiency in the following tools:
- Xero (non-negotiable)
- Google Workspace (GMail, Google Calendar)
- Internal sales and invoicing system (training provided)
- VoIP system for New Zealand phone number access
- Excellent communication skills (comfortable on phone with customers)
- Familiarity with job scheduling and stock coordination is big advantage
- Strong organisational and multitasking abilities
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to work independently and manage priorities
