About the position: At Camp Haynes, we provide a rich, STEAM-based experience designed to inspire curiosity, creativity, and confidence in students from PreK 3 through 8th grade. Our program blends hands-on learning, creative exploration, and exciting weekly field trips (both on-site and off-site) to create an engaging and memorable experience for every camper. Camp Haynes will run June 22 – July 17th, operating daily from 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM.
We are currently seeking passionate and energetic team members for the following program areas: 4th–8th Grade Vacancies Cooking Club Robotics Graphic Design Theater Money Moves Math Lab K–3rd Grade Vacancies Structural Engineers Club Keyboarding & Tech Skills Lab Creators Club Puzzles & Logic Club Kitchen Science Lab PreK3–PreK4 Vacancies Artistry Tiny Engineers Coding & Logic Curious Scientists Mathematicians If you are enthusiastic about hands-on learning, innovation, and making a meaningful impact in the lives of students, Camp Haynes is the place for you. You will: Develop a positive, supportive, productive classroom environment and implement engaging daily activities for all students
- Lead the internalization and implementation of lesson plans aligned with our summer learning offerings and social emotional development
- Prepare learning materials that support STEAM aligned programming and enrichment
- Establish efficient classroom routines and procedures to ensure a safe learning environment
- Collaborate consistently with colleagues, school administration, and families; share updates with families and staff about student engagement and performance
- Proactively adhere to policies and procedures, making the safety and care of students the primary focus
- Demonstrate exceptional organizational, multi-tasking, problem solving and decision making skills; meet assigned deadlines
- Demonstrate strong verbal, written and interpersonal skills with a focus on customer service; maintain open, professional, and constructive communication with students, colleagues, and families
- Participate in regular professional learning opportunities to develop and expand skill
- Communicate and partner with families, sharing regular updates on student learning during extended day programming
- Complete all necessary Childcare compliance requirements and trainings; and Perform other duties as assigned.
QualificationsYou have: A belief that all children, from every background, must receive an excellent education, and are able to reach high levels of academic achievement
- An associate degree (or higher) in early childhood education, early childhood development, child and family studies or a closely related field; or a Bachelors degree in any field and one year of supervised occupational experience working with children;
Experience with elementary and/or middle school-aged children
- A commitment to continuing to grow and learn professionally
- Demonstrated ability to build strong relationships with students and families from racially, culturally, and socioeconomically diverse backgrounds
- Self-motivation and initiative, especially when juggling competing priorities
- Ability to build and sustain a positive and supportive academic-focused classroom culture
- Proactive and strong written and oral communication skills
- Strong attention to detail and exceptional follow-through; and Ability to work independently and as part of a team. We look forward to meeting you!
