<p>Job Description – Primary Care Outpatient Nurse Practitioner / Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP)</p><p><strong>Location:</strong> California</p><p><strong>Job Type:</strong> Full-Time</p><p><strong>Employment Type:</strong> Outpatient Clinic</p><p>Position Summary</p><p>We are seeking a compassionate and experienced <strong>Primary Care Outpatient Nurse Practitioner/Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP)</strong> to provide comprehensive, patient-centered care for individuals and families across the lifespan. The ideal candidate will diagnose and treat acute and chronic medical conditions, promote preventive care, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary healthcare team to deliver high-quality outpatient services. This position offers a Monday–Friday schedule with no inpatient responsibilities.</p><p>Key Responsibilities</p><ul><li>Provide comprehensive primary care services in an outpatient setting.</li><li>Perform physical examinations, annual wellness visits, and preventive screenings.</li><li>Diagnose and treat acute and chronic illnesses.</li><li>Order, interpret, and follow up on laboratory tests, imaging, and diagnostic studies.</li><li>Prescribe medications and develop evidence-based treatment plans within California scope of practice.</li><li>Manage chronic diseases including diabetes, hypertension, asthma, COPD, and hyperlipidemia.</li><li>Provide health education, lifestyle counseling, and preventive care recommendations.</li><li>Administer immunizations and perform minor office procedures as appropriate.</li><li>Coordinate referrals to specialists and collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals.</li><li>Maintain accurate, timely documentation in the Electronic Health Record (EHR).</li><li>Participate in quality improvement initiatives and maintain compliance with organizational, state, and federal regulations.</li></ul><p>Qualifications</p><ul><li>Master's or Doctorate degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program.</li><li>Current, unrestricted California Registered Nurse (RN) and Nurse Practitioner (NP) license.</li><li>Board Certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner (AANP or ANCC).</li><li>Active DEA registration and California Furnishing Number (or ability to obtain).</li><li>Current BLS certification (ACLS preferred).</li><li>Minimum 1–2 years of outpatient primary care or family medicine experience preferred.</li><li>Strong clinical assessment, diagnostic, and patient education skills.</li><li>Experience with EHR systems and quality documentation.</li></ul><p>Preferred Qualifications</p><ul><li>Experience in family medicine, internal medicine, community health, or urgent care.</li><li>Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.</li><li>Familiarity with value-based care and chronic disease management.</li></ul><p>Compensation & Benefits</p><ul><li><strong>Salary:</strong> <strong>$145,000–$160,000 annually</strong> (depending on experience, location, and productivity)</li><li>Performance bonuses (where applicable)</li><li>Medical, Dental, and Vision Insurance</li><li>401(k) with employer match</li><li>Paid Time Off (PTO) and Paid Holidays</li><li>CME allowance and paid CME time</li><li>Malpractice insurance with tail coverage</li><li>Licensure and certification reimbursement</li><li>Work-life balance with outpatient-only schedule and minimal/no call (practice dependent).</li></ul><p></p>
