On one hand, we need a careful, detail-oriented accountant and bookkeeper, on the other hand someone resourceful at administration and operations with a clear talent for organization and coordination, someone adept at logical and systemic thinking with a collaborative spirit, excellent communication skills, and an enthusiasm for videogames and the videogame industry.  The ideal candidate enjoys working with management and a team of talented creatives, with a drive to help us to efficiently create great products.</p> <p><br></p> <p>The ideal candidate communicates effectively in a small cross-functional remote team environment.  They bring a passion for working within a product development environment, having a collaborative spirit and an enthusiasm for supporting a team of creative individuals.</p> <p><br></p> <p><span style="font-size: 12pt">This is a remote, contract-to-hire position which requires regular collaboration online during our core work hours (9:30 AM – 5:30 PM <p>Accounting</p> <ul> <li>Participate with management, presenting accounting reports and advice to enable data-driven decisions</li> <li>Create and present financial forecasts</li> <li>Monitor and report on ROI for marketing campaigns</li> <li>Coordinate with outside CPAs on tax compliance</li> <li>Oversee state and provincial government registrations and filings</li> <li>Help manage vendor relationships, setting up and maintaining billing and payment processes and systems</li> </ul> <p>Bookkeeping</p> <ul> <li>Handle QuickBooks categorization and bank reconciliation</li> <li>Monitor accounts for funding and irregularities</li> <li>Process sales tax, use tax, and property tax</li> <li>Validate timesheets</li> <li>Oversee vacation and sick time accruals</li> <li>Sync PTO (vacation, sick time) between timesheet and payroll systems</li> <li>Process expense reports and reimbursements</li> <li>Administer 401(k) and Health Insurance enrollments, deductions, and payments</li> <li>Reconcile benefit deductions from payroll with actual benefit payments</li> <li>Keep insurance coverage up to date – e.g. Workers Compensation coverage when workers are hired, terminated, move homes</li> <li>Ensure that team members and vendors are issued tax forms: W-2, 1099, T4, etc.</li> </ul> <p>Marketing Support</p> <ul> <li>Collect, analyze, and report on Market data</li> <li>Evaluate the ROI of Marketing campaigns</li> <li>Help organize and manage Marketing events</li> </ul> <p>Personnel Support</p> <ul> <li>Ensure that each contractor's contract is up-to-date</li> <li>Administer our pool of external testers</li> <li>Prepare and facilitate Performance Reviews</li> <li>Administer eLearning and training compliance</li> <li>Coordinate time-off requests: scheduling, payroll</li> <li>Coordinate travel planning.</li> </ul> <p>Recruiting Support</p> <ul> <li>Pre-screen job applicants for follow-up review by the hiring manager and lead</li> <li>Keep the ball rolling for hiring, scheduling interviews and providing follow-up communications to job applicants</li> </ul> <p>Other Duties</p> <ul> <li>Lead initiatives, ensuring they're effectively executed</li> <li>Lead meetings, communication and presentation skills.</li> <li>Excellent problem-solving skills, resourceful, able to find solutions on their own.</li> <li>Organized, detail-oriented, able to work fast and loose or
